Welcoming West Sayville’s Smiles
Our practice is all about your peace of mind: Peace of mind about the health, comfort and appearance of your smile; and peace of mind about the consistency and excellence of your dental care.
We want your experience with us to be unprecedented – every dental visit; every procedure.
Our entire team is dedicated to your needs, making sure appointments are convenient, relaxing and absolutely comfortable. We ensure that plenty of time is spent listening to you and discussing your options. And we do everything we can to make your dentistry affordable by offering interest-free payment plans with CareCredit.
When you arrive at our office, you are always warmly greeted and offered a refreshment from our coffee bar. All of our treatment rooms are equipped with noise cancelling headphones, iPods, Pandora radio, blankets and cozy pillows. For longer appointments or to keep kids occupied, we offer movies or satellite TV.
Best of all, our team is highly trained and experienced, and each team member has a unique love of learning. In fact, Dr. Sigismondi averages over 40 hours of continuing education a year!
We’d love to get to know you – and your smile – better, and help you find your ideal health!
Meet Dr. Richard Sigismondi
A Long Island native, Dr. Richard Sigismondi completed his undergraduate work at Stony Brook University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went on to graduate from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis Missouri in 1979.
Dr. Sigismondi’s interest in dentistry started early – his first job at the age of fifteen was working in his father’s dental laboratory. His interest in occlusion and its effect on teeth, muscles and joints began then. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Sigismondi continued his studies in occlusion with Dr. Pete Dawson at the Dawson Academy where he completed the academy’s curriculum and achieved the status of Dawson Academy Scholar. This body of knowledge, combined with his studies with Dr. Mark Piper at the Piper Education and Research Center, has made for an exquisitely detailed understanding of the relationship between teeth and the TMJ, allowing Dr. Sigismondi to treat even the most complex cases with simplicity and precision.
Dr. Sigismondi’s implant training began in 1986, just one year after the ADA granted approval of dental implants in this country. His training has been with manufacturers of dental implants including Nobel Biocare’s “Teeth in an Hour.” His training in CEREC began in 2009. Since it is one of the most exciting areas of restorative dentistry, he continues training to this day. His fervent passion for continuing education is very broad, and he takes, on average, 50 hours of continuing education per year.
Dr. Sigismondi has been a member of the American Dental Association, the Dental Society of the State of NY and the Suffolk County Dental Society. He is affiliated with the Long Island Dental Forum, the Integrated Study Group, the Bay Area Study Group and the CEREC Study Club which consume much of his time out of the office.
He is an avid sailor and bicyclist. The true loves of Dr. Sigismondi’s life are his wife, Claire and daughter, Rachel. Says Dr. Sigismondi, “Our bond of a close family transcends everything else.” Together they enjoy cooking, music, gardening and travel.
